The word “Racism” is thrown around a lot these days… okay, over the last few hundred years and it’s usually aimed at White folks – understandably.   Racism however, is a human condition; it is not regulated to just “White folk”.  White people do not own the monopoly on racism no matter what some people might think.

Every race believes it’s the best.  Every ethnicity believes theirs to be the best.  Every country believes they are the best.  Before we even get started, we all think we’re the best.  No shortage of egos here on planet earth.

Some countries go out of their way to brag about how grand they are to the point where they piss off other countries who throw things at them.

Racism and discrimination go hand in hand, and in some way, shape or form, everyone experiences the feeling of being looked upon by our human brethren as a worthless piece of scum.  Welcome to the human race ya’ll.

Before we left and went on our journey to reinvent the GFP, we posted this very cool video of people from around the world groovin’ to Pharrell William’s “Happy” song.  This silly yet contagious song has somehow inspired people to get off their collectives asses and jump around their neighbourhoods wearing big happy smiles.

We’ve decided to put it back on – for eternity, or until the internet breaks.

Besides Pharrell’s ‘official’ version, hundreds of people in dozens of countries and cities across the planet have indulged us all with their own home-grown versions.  People from Argentina, China, Russia, Kuwait... to places I didn’t know existed with names I can’t pronounce are all up and bouncing around the hood!

Every colour imaginable, every religion possible, young and old, straight, gay and in-between, rich and poor, in virtually every video – together – dancing and smiling… wow…who knew?

Discussion with Director Reena Kukreja - Tied in a Knot: Narratives from Bride Seeking Regions of India examines the newly emergent phenomenon of bride buying and commoditization of the female body in India, and the attendant gender based violence that the sourced, bought, or trafficked brides undergo in their marital homes.

Years of repressive social morés that promoted girl dispreference is now seeing men from these regions breach customary rules and travel to distant poorer regions of India to find wives.

This one hour film was two years in making, while Director Reena Kukreja travelled to 226 villages in both the source and receiving regions of India, interviewing brides, their parents, husbands, conjugal family members and villagers.

This internationally acclaimed documentary demonstrates how the intersection of patriarchy and poverty with the current regime of neoliberalism in India have created an oppressive environment for poor rural women.

9 Out Of 10 Americans Are Completely Wrong About This Mind-Blowing Fact!

This pretty much speaks for itself.

At 1:05 minutes I get a rude awakening. At 1:41, he starts talking about you. At 2:24, he says a "bad" word. At 3:50, he kind of breaks my brain.

At 4:50, he lets you know how broke you really are. At 5:20, he rubs it in.

And at 5:50 minutes, he points out that reality isn't close to what we think it is.
